Catherine, My husband & I were in Austin the weekend of Oct. 9-12 on the SRV Fan Club Tour. My husband plays in a band here in Alabama so naturally we had to pop our heads in when he heard the guitarist tuning up at Friends. He was just mesmerized when he saw a "girl"! Very few bands here at home have female singers much less female guitarist. Needless to say we went to grab dinner and came right back when your show started and stayed until the end. Several people on the tour told us you were just great and they came back down with us and we had a great time! Alan Haynes played next door at Joe's on Saturday night (scheduled especially for the tour) with surprise/special guest "Tommy Shannon". It was great but our first stop that night was the 311 Club to catch most of your show. (At 10:00 when we left we almost didn't get in the door with the rest of our group to see Alan) Anyway, I ramblind but this note is to let you know just how much we enjoyed your music and your SRV flavor! I'm sure you had a blast recording the album with Chris & Tommy. One can only imagine.... I sing in the band with my husband and would love to do ALL your songs, however, he'll probably only let me pick a few with your permission. We will keep an eye on your website for new CD information and possible tour dates near us. Keep playing for us!!! Tina T. |

I've been telling everybody I now about you since seeing
you at J. Vincent's here in San Antonio a month or so ago. Now J. Vincent's
is closed. It seems like San Antonio doesn't support local music very
well. Oh well at least Austin is only an hour away. We'll just have to
commute! Really enjoyed the show and I love your CD. You probably wouldn't remember me but you signed my CD liner. Keep playin' the blues lady! Hopefully you're singing for love of the genre not from experience! LOL :) Take care. See ya in Austin! Thomas |

Was in Austin this past weekend and heard you singing
from the street. Had to go in and listen to your set. I am a blues fan
from way back. You are simply wonderful. I love the way your soul can
be felt in the lyrics of your songs and in those guitar licks on your
guitar. |

Hello Catherine, Thanks very much for helping Coy & us out. We really appreciate it very, very much !! As I mentioned to you our drummer Coy Fuller who has been diagnosed with Colon Cancer and just went through surgery at Breckonridge Hospital on August 8th. Coy is one of our local musicians who has played with everyone from Johnny Winter, the Grassroots, to ZZtop (then Moving Sidewalks), Rusty Wier, Buddy Guy, Willie Nelson, Delbert McClitton, etc, etc .... We are having a benefit for Coy to help raise money for Coy's medical bills and thousands of dollars of expenses. The benefit for Coy Fuller is going to be held on Sunday, Sept 28th at " Hanovers " in Pflugerville, Texas - [link] The doors open at 12 Noon, music starts at 1 PM until 10 PM. Catherine Denise stopped in to a blues jam at BB King's
in NYC I was playing with Asbury Park guitarist Sonny Kenn. Catherine
(who is about 5' or 5'2''!) was breathing fire and tore the roof off the
joint! She was a joy to play with and to listen to. She absolutely kills.
Thanks for stopping by Catherine! |

JUST HAD TO TAKE A MINUTE TO TELL YOU ABOUT SOMEONE THAT
YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW ABOUT. THIS PAST WEEKEND, AUG 9TH & 10TH, ME & SOME OF MY BUDDIES WENT DOWN IN THE AUSTIN AREA TO PLAY GOLF & CATCH SOME GOOD MUSIC. WE WALKED INTO THE 311 CLUB, ON 6TH STREET, SATURDAY NIGHT( WE WERE ALSO THERE LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME -- ME & ONE OF MY BUDDIES BIRTHDAYS), AND AS EXPECTED WE IMMEDIATELY COULD HEAR SOME OUTSTANDING BLUES. THIS GIRL WAS SINGING SOME GOOD STUFF. A BLUES GUITAR WAS SCREAMING IN THE BACKGROUND. WHAT MADE THIS WHOLE SCENE DIFFERENT WAS THAT THE GUITAR PLAYER WAS A WOMAN -- BUT SHE DID NOT PLAY LIKE A WOMAN. AT LEAST NOT LIKE ANY WOMAN I EVER HEARD. LIKE I SAID YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW ABOUT HER. BUT IN CASE YOU DON'T, GET HER CD --"TREAT ME LIKE A LADY" -- BY CATHERINE DENISE. SHE ALSO HAS A WEB SITE. [link] I COULD HAVE SET THERE ALL NIGHT, BLINDFOLDED, & NEVER BELIEVED I WAS LISTENING TO A WOMAN PLAYING THAT STRAT. I PLAYED GUITAR 27 YEARS, & I LOVE BLUES. SO, BELIEVE ME, SHE IS GOOD. HOPE TO HEAR HER ON YOUR WATCH. THANK YOU FOR PLAYING MY TYPE BLUES. WILL TUNE IN WHEN I CAN-- LATER BY THE WAY -- HER CD PLAYS THREE TIMES FROM AUSTIN TO WAXAHACHIE !! THANKS, FRED FOR YA'LL THAT READ THIS ON CATHERINE'S WEB SITE, GINGER IS A DJ AT THE "NUMBER ONE" BLUES STATION IN DALLAS-- KNON - 89.3. HER & FOUR OTHER DJ'S PLAY BLUES MON-FRI, 6:00 - 8:00. |

Dear Catherine, My Husband and I were at Club 311 on Saturday evening Aug. 9 and caught your set. I was so impressed with your talent. You can make your guitars sing. The depth of the songs that you have composed were as good if not better than any seasoned professional. We had a hard time hearing your voice so we bought your CD. We played it twice on the way back to Ft. Worth. Your voice matches the blues perfectly. I am telling everyone I know and more about you. Catherine, keep doing everything that you do so well. I will continue to follow your career with enthusiasm! Sincerely, Peggy Trent |

Saw your ads in Blues Revue. I thought, gee, what a sweet-looking
girl, and she plays guitar too. Boy, was I wrong. You're totally kicking
it, mam, I haven't heard something so low down and raunchy in a long time.
That's you playing lead guitar on most of your sound bytes, right? I can
hear the Stevie Ray in it. I want the CD!!! It says on your website that
I can now buy the album, but I don't see a link for it. Guess I will check
on Amazon.com. I like the idea of the guitar picks to navigate around
the site. Keep on doing what you do so well...Ron |
